John Bolton is sad: "Prospects of a U.S. attack on Iran remain very bleak"

http://www.tehrantimes.com/Index_view.asp?code=188225

<snip>

In a Friday interview with BBC Persian, Bolton said Washington’s efforts to curb Tehran’s nuclear achievements have come to naught as Tehran has successfully managed to defend its national interests.

In my view, we lost the fight. Tehran has emerged the ultimate winner in maintaining its nuclear program, he added.

Bolton claimed that if Washington had settled on a military option against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure beforehand, “the threat of Iranian nuclear weapons would not have existed in the world today”.

The former U.S. diplomat said that he seriously advises U.S. President Barack Obama to opt for a military attack on Iran’s uranium enrichment, should three months of direct negotiation with Iran prove to be a failure.

Then again, I doubt the new administration would pay heed to my advice and consider a military option against the Islamic Republic. Prospects of a U.S. attack on Iran remain very bleak, he added.

7. A friend of mine passed up a golden opportunity to
punch his teeth down his throat 8 years ago.

I still haven't forgiven him for passing it up.

The assault charge and a night in the pokey would have been worth it.

21. Ya know
just seeing his name in print stirs up feelings in me of wanting to have him be hurt. Something obscene and painful that doesn't stop hurting after the torture stops. Yeah I know it's sick and wrong but I don't like the sight of him, hearing about him or knowing he is still alive. He needs some white phosphorus dripped down his back or something.

the boy scouts? theres no one left..our military is in shambles, the soldiers have been deployed over and over again. Maybe they are sad because they wont have an excuse for their HUGE 527 billion dollar defense budget they just passed.
this country is still so fucking lame.

23. The rise of their idiot came on the heels of the rise of ours.

I suspect the moderates will return to power after the next election.

In this respect Iran has been, once the revolutionary spirit settled down, been a perfect example of why Democratic foreign policy works, and the GOP's does not. Throughout the Reagan/Bush administration hardline haters of all things non-Islamic reigned in Iran. During Clinton's the moderates took over and began softening the Islamic laws. Then the hardliners returned with Dumbya.

Same reason Communists retained control throughout the Reagan years. Once the threat of Reagan was gone, they lost their support as they had begun losing it during the Nixon/Ford/Carter years.

19. Dammit John, you're a man of action
Grab all your guns and launch the invasion yourself! You're gonna sit around and let those wussy Democrats stop you from ushering in the New American Century? Screw 'em! Get a few good lads (six of you real he-men should be plenty enough), and go on over to Tehran. Declare the Empire of the United States has appropriated Iran, and just wait for the freedom-loving people of Iran to flock to your glorious banner!

And would you mind terribly leaving the keys to your car with me?
