I am not about to argue that the situation with Daschle, Geithner, and Killfer is not an extreme embarrassment for the Democratic party, because it most certainly is, however now is the perfect opportunity for the Obama administration to rise to the challenge of really changing how our government operates. I have seen folks argue that what our guys have done is not near as bad as what republicans have done. This argument falls very flat because if we want to change things we have to be better than that. I say let these guys be the sacrificial lambs. If this administration is going to clean house, it should start right it its own backyard. That means that Geithner has to go and Obama has to do it. If he wants to maintain the trust and respect of me and many others he can't make excuses. A leader has to set the example. I really believe that this negative can be turned quite positive if he only has the will.

This is an opportunity for change unless another one of these comes up. Wouldn't it be simple to ask a potential nominee when being vetted, "Do you have any skeletons in your closet because they will be found out and made public". 13. I think there not scandals

Frankly tax problems are not uncommon. In most cases these Democrats self identified or once notified immediately corrected their mistake. I just don't see these things as huge mistakes. Many common honest Americans have to file amended tax returns. I'm happy congress caught these things and made them public. That's what oversight is for. Should it stop these people from working in our government? But asking questions of people is a clear sign the government is working better than it has before.
