To the Editor,

It was revealed this week that the Pentagon has recalled 16,000 body armor plates on the eve of a devastating report on the testing and procurement of body armor done by the Pentagon Inspector General. Again, it is revealed that our government has sold out its troops to favor a White House insider.

As you may or may not recall, I disclosed the controversy over Armor Holding Company back in May, 2007. At that time, Retired Colonel John Norwood, who has overseen the body armor testing between Interceptor and Dragon Skin body armor, went to work for Armor Holding, who makes ... you guessed it, Interceptor body armor. Who won the contract?

You guessed it, Interceptor body armor.

Now, Secretary of the Army Pete Geren has ordered a recall of Interceptor body armor plates, for fear that they may not have passed testing. There is evidence, collected by Soldiers For The Truth, that the testing data may have been altered to favor Interceptor.

This is the latest of crimes committed against our troops. Beginning in 2003, it was disclosed that 25 percent of soldiers were buying their own body armor. This practice escalated until the Democratic Congress took action in 2006. Thousands of vehicles were sent into war without the necessary up armoring, again a practice that escalated until after the 2006 elections.

Thank God we finally have a government that will begin to hold its employees and contractors responsible for their duties. Encourage our Congress members to research and prosecute any examples of neglect that have resulted in the death of our troops. An America of another generation would have never stood for this.
