You're in good hands. Allstate plans to cut 1000 jobs, outsource them.
Allstate Corp., which plans to cut 1,000 jobs in its underperforming financial arm, is in the midst of a review that might result in some of those positions being outsourced or sent off-shore.

Last November the Northbrook-based company hired Boston Consulting Group to find ways to trim costs at its financial unit.

Since 2004 Allstate has moved certain operations to foreign countries. In December, for example, it opened a service center in Manila with 10 representatives fielding calls from financial customers. Allstate also has sourced several life and annuity processes to Allstate Northern Ireland and to EXL, a self-described "provider of offshore business outsourcing solutions."

"We must look for ways to increase our sourcing efforts," Allstate said in a Jan. 23 memo to customer service workers in its financial unit.

8. It compels me to find a movement, or start one, that lists and publishes...
...any corporations which pledge not to outsource jobs.

Maybe there's something out there now.

2. This a perfect example of why there will be NO economic recovery for America.
The traitorous corporations have and continue to send jobs formerly done by Americans to foreign nations. Don't let the GD stimulus plan fool you; America will continue its decline after the the stimulus is long forgotten. Allstate should be off all Americans insurance provider list.

3. I dumped them several years ago.
Now it's time to tell everyone I know to dump these bastards.

It's amazing to me how all the US companies continue to ship jobs out of the country by the millions, yet they can't understand why the economy is so bad. Their solution is to ship even more jobs out of the country. Keep digging that hole deeper assholes.

4. Massive layoffs at the lower levels so the top brass won't have to alter their lifestyle.

Like all big corps, they couldn't give a rat's ass if someone lost their job as long
as they don't have to go without any of the luxuries they have gotten used to.

6. I wouldn't touch Allstate with a 10 foot pole. I heard a lot about them with Katrina, all bad.
They tried to pitch cancer insurance where I worked and I told them no way.

11. Maybe the Boston Consulting Group can rehire them
They ought to!

But that just shows how it is not simple. Everyone who works for the Boston consulting group wants to keep their jobs too.

13. Boston Consulting Group -- Mitt Romney's alma mater -- and Mormon Mafia
At Boston Consulting Group, Romney was part of what several of his colleagues affectionately called "the Mormon mafia," a coterie of smart, talented, hard-working Mormon men who eventually rose to leadership positions at the firm.
