Foil lunch thieves with 'moldy' bags

Is anything more maddening than finding that some sticky-fingered co-worker has nicked your healthful, economical lunch from the office fridge, the lunch you woke up early to make? We think not. That's why Anti-Theft Lunch Bags are such genius. The sandwich bags have green splotches printed on both sides, making your freshly prepared repast look spoiled.

At $10 per package of 25, they're pretty pricey. But 5 percent of the cost goes to Freedom From Hunger (www.freedomfromhunger.org), which provides microfinance, education and health protection to women in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Plus, $10 is a lot less than the cost of going to a deli after your homemade lunch has been stolen. The bags are reusable and recyclable.

2. Maybe not so genius
I can imagine a grossed-out co-worker yanking it out of the fridge and tossing it into the garbage can. Same end result -- no lunch.

3. I consider something like The Source to be the tool of choice for dealing with lunch thieves.
http://www.hotsauceworld.com/source.html

At 7.1 million Scoville units, it simultaneously punishes and exposes the culprit - just watch for the person screaming and dashing madly for the water cooler...

 :grr: :nuke: :hurts:

9. Think we could bribe Bush or Cheney's private chefs to exact some revenge for us?
I'm sure the tales their secret service details will have about the stink from the shitter they had to guard will be legendary.

12. Our cleaning guy's doing it in my office...
The hot Sauce looks like a good idea...although I think it might be a problem if anything untoward happened. i could see being sued for 5 million dollars for a sandwich...could happen...I've heard weirder things here in Philly.

13. I saw a study once about stolen food in the workplace
They said that workers who steal food from co-workers usually end up being arrested for some other crime - or there's a major problem with the culture of the whole company.

And when you think about it, if you have no respect for the property of the people you work with, then stealing from a stranger is nothing.

15. How do think that rich MD got that way? n/t
I know one that regularly raided the tiny breakroom for whatever others brought for lunch; I was the victim of his theft.

16. Genius? I'd throw it out if I saw that in our office fridge.
Then someone would be digging in the garbage for their lunch. This is one of the dumbest things Ive ever seen.
