need ideas for one of my patients having Conjoined twins |
|
first things first: I have already had the patient sign a records release for fundraising yesterday.
So here is the scoop:
I have a patient(very nice lady) who will be having her conjoined twins in approximately two weeks. If the twins make it, this type of pregnancy is high-risk so you never know. The patient is poor so I wanted to do some type of clothing drive(for anyone who thinks they could make clothes for these two.)I also wanted to do a fund drive and maybe get on the radio and raise some money for them.
Any suggestions from people would be nice about how to go about( the easiest way) having her set up an account for donation or how to get this to the radio and all of that stuff would be helpful.
Thanks in advance,
Brenda

1. How are they conjoined? Head, chest, hip or ? |
|
I might be able to make some clothes but it would depend on if I have the knowledge to adapt a pattern depending on where they are joined.

3. Call local TV and Radio stations |
|
and tell them what you're doing. If one of them will run a story on it, it ought to get some funds. You could set up an account for your patient and then hope that when people hear her story, they will donate. People usually do even during rough times like these.
Good luck.

4. This is a great suggestion. |
|
The media loves stories like this. Once they hear of it, the story may take off and end up on the national, maybe even international, news.

I just want to time it where just before they deliver( which will be tricky.)Just in case they don't make it I don't want to have a bunch of stuff for her that she cannot use.

9. A fund should be established with a local bank and let them administer it. |
|
Get a lawyer to do volunteer her/his services to keep things legal and safe. Your local bar association will recommend someone.
