I don't think they use lithium in those batteries though, so unlike cellphones/PDAs/etc that use lithium ion batteries than can explode if the lithium contacts air, it doesn't sound like that could be the cause. Perhaps the fact that it was a Lexus means that they use those higher priced batteries?
