Minimum wage in Iowa is $7,25/hr., or about $290/wk if they will hire you for 40 hours.
And that's before taxes. They can pay $6.35 for the first 90 days of employment/training/probation. Employers of tipped employees receiving more than $30 of tips a month may pay $4.35/hr. Before tax income. Lots of employers will only hire 30 hrs./wk to avoid paying benefits or only hire temp workers to avoid paying benefits.

Now let's all go buy $40K cars on these wages.

I'm so steamed right now. The condescending, filthy rich on Walls Street and in Congress need a rude awakening.

1. You can't get a car loan for any car
on those wages, and it's not that easy on the median wage of $15 hr.

And yet they still can't get it through their heads that they have to fix either wages or the income disparity gap.

Without credit, this country has NO MONEY.

3. You know we used to be able to deduct
credit card and car loan interest, until Reagan the jackass took it away.

5. We need to be flooding the media and Congress with these figures.
You can't buy with no job or on limited income that only supports subsistence living. You can't get loans on when you are underemployed or unemployed.

The media is just as bad since the ones we see in front of us generally have good paying contracts. They just don't think in these terms.
