I am in DC lobbying for the Stimulus Bill in the Senate

Met with Brownback and Roberts staff today. Brownback is a maybe and Roberts told me what I wanted to hear but I have a feeling he will tow the party line.

My union has a bunch of us here this week lobbying senators.

BTW, both had TVs in their waiting area and they were tuned to - you guessed it - FOX News. :puke:

Also went to a rally for Employee Free Choice Act. There are union people everywhere in DC this week:)

12. Please talk up the $200M funding for Centers for Independent Living

known in Beltway jargon as "Title VII". It is in the House version but not the Senate one.

You are in an excellent position to do this, as Kansas has one of the strongest IL programs in the country, and likely the strongest rural one; at a rural IL conference in Texas a couple of years ago, fully a quarter of the attendees were from Kansas, outnumbering those from Texas itself!

20. I think Thom Hartmann had a great suggestion today.

He said words mean a lot and that it should be sold as a jobs bill, not a stimulus bill. Stimulus has the TARP connection and subconsciously people are reminded of it. This is just a suggestion and regardless of what you call it, I wish you the best of success.
