Reality: 60 Democratc Senators Does Not Equal a Flilbuster Proof Majority
I just watched TYT's Cenk bitch about the NH Sen, compromise to get the most right wing repuke in the O administration. Unlike repukes, the Democrats have rarely in my lifetime hung together through thick and thin. There are way too many DLCers which will always vote for the Corporations rather than what is best for us,

Wild Card Examples depending on their special interests and the legislation presented...

Bayh, Evan

Feinstein, Dianne

Landrieu, Mary

Levin, Carl

Lieberman, Joseph ( still listed with democratic majority)

Nelson, Bill

Nelson, Ben - (D - NE)

Reid, Harry

Rockefeller, John

Schumer, Charles

Who have I missed?

1. 100 "democratic" Senators couldn't accomplish anything.
It's obvious.

2. Yes, the Myth Of 60 is rather well-known...

I.e., reality is more complicated than Americans can easily digest.

3. To be fair on Reid...
..he has to vote the wrong way on things for purely parlimentary reasons.

Some of the rest on that list... Landrieu in particular comes to mind at the moment.... ;(

5. I want them to filibuster.
I want them to cry filibuster on every damn bill. I want them hiring personal bodyguards and food tasters.

6. And yet amazingly, the 'Pugs, with less than sixty votes
Managed to ram through their legislative agenda, year in, year out. It doesn't take sixty votes, it takes will, discipline and the willingness to kneecap one's opponents in order to get them into line. Sadly, the Dems are still acting like the spineless wimps they are.

Thus all of Obama's plans, both good and bad, are going to get torn to shreds, run through a wringer, and come out doing almost exactly the opposite of what was intended.

The good ol' two party/same corporate master system of government strikes again.

7. I believe there are some of those that vote more with Republicans than Democrats
Ben Nelson and Mary Landrieu are a couple of them.
