Mother & sister walking CA to WY to honor slain Marine
Yesterday, while photographing redrocks near Tsegi, AZ, Gretchen Mack walked past. She and her daughter Kelly Phelps-Orndoff are walking, in turns, from 29 Palms Marine Corps base to their home in Dubois, WY, to honor Gretchen's son, Chance Phelps. Chance was killed in Iraq in 2004. They are also raising funds to support returning veterans. Their route will pass thru Bluff, La Sal, Grand Junction, Craig, Rock Springs, and end in Dubois by Memorial Day.

1. Very sad that they have to raise money to help veterans.
That is the government's responsibility. We have paid our taxes and it is enough to care for them well.
