Perhaps it's a disgruntled doctor who can no longer practice because of decisions made by the board? If so, other board members.

Wouldn't you be disgruntled after having your license revoked? Imagine going through the hell of all that training to become a doctor, working so hard to get there, making lots of money each year, then you have the med board revoke your license for some reason (perhaps a pre-existing character flaw) and you no longer have any income.

4. 13 days before the bomb blast, there was an appeal dismissed...

...on a malpractice case against Dr. Pierce, one of the defendants. He was the moving party on the dismissal of the appeal. IMO, I would look at this. The plaintiff was the Estate of a Decedent. So apparently the allegations in the malpractice action would be that there was a death due to his (and other's) negligence. The administer of the Estate who was the plaintiff had the same last name as the decedent.

IMO, people can and have gotten very steamed over the death of a loved one. I can see enough anger to rig a bomb to kill the person who blocked them from getting "legal" revenge for a death.
