Should not we be using the "ROBUST PACKAGE" buzz words to sell Obama's Jobs Bill?
Dubya used them to great effect.

Should not we be demanding a "Robust Jobs Bill"?

Bush: Economic stimulus package to be "robust"
Wed Jan 23, 2008 4:23pm EST

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President George W. Bush insisted on Wednesday that the economic stimulus package he is working on with Congress will be robust enough to help the U.S. economy.

"I talked to them about my desire to work with the Congress to get a stimulus package passed, one that's going to be robust enough to affect the economy, simple enough for people to understand it and efficient enough to have an impact," Bush told reporters after a White House meeting with a group of city mayors.

"I'm confident that we can get something done," he added. "There's a spirit that says we need to take a fundamentally sound economy and help it ... deal with the uncertainty with a pro-growth package."

Bush was speaking a day after he and leaders of the Democratic-led Congress vowed to move quickly to work out the details of a $150 billion stimulus package for the U.S. economy. Recession fears have roiled world financial markets.

1. it should be called
"Jobs and Economic Recovery Program" not stimulus or package.

3. How about using the "ROBUST" word?
As in "We demand that the Jobs and Economic Recovery Program be robust".

Or "President Obama insists on having a robust Jobs and Economic Recovery Program".

I suppose that we could leave the loaded "Package" word out, or just use it occasionally.

2. Why sell it? If it has merit, it will stand on its own accord.

4. I doubt that many advertising agencies would have that as their slogan.

6. Unfortunately, the sales part of it is just about EVERYTHING nowadays.
Look at the sales job the republi-CONS are doing, and how it's having an effect.

It's ALL about sales, and I'm really sorry to say that. Yes the package has merit. Of course it has merit. It SHOULD be able to stand on its own accord. In a perfect world where we don't have liars and haters and distorters and pirates and cheaters and supply-siders and trickle-downers and free-marketers and foxes-in-the-henhouses schmucks, such a package would succeed or fail based on merit. We don't have a world like that. We have a perception management world, and our side of the aisle is frickin' MISERABLE at it. They're getting rolled like so many bowling balls - even as we speak.
