Dallas hardware store offers Bush door greeter position
from Think Progress
http://thinkprogress.org/2009/02/05/bush-greeter/

Elliot’s Hardware — a local Dallas hardware store — has “appealed to former President George W. Bush to spend his new-found retirement working as a part-time greeter at its Maple Avenue store.” “Our greeters are a legendary part of our customer service,” said Kyle Walters, Elliott’s Hardware president and CEO. “And we are offering the position to Mr. Bush in all sincerity. We think it would be a great fit for him as he settles back into life in Dallas.” If he chooses to take the position, Bush will enjoy company perks such as “a flexible part-time schedule (to allow travel to Crawford),” a parking space, and an employee discount.

6. Alberto Gonzales isn't qualified as a greeter....
but he had his choice of a hardware or plumbing position.

4. You mean, he'd have to wave and say "hi" to the riff-raff?
He wouldn't have the faintest idea what to do.

8. Uh, I thought the idea with a store was to get people to come inside and buy,
not to send them running off screaming in the opposite direction.

9. Like he would go anywhere near that part of town...

It's one of the few places on the street with no bars on their windows.
Of course, turn the corner onto Medical District Drive and there are these huge, expensive looking new condos that look very out of place in that area...maybe he can buy one and walk to work.

My bus goes right past that store each day on my way to work...somehow I strongly doubt their customer base would be very amused seeing HIM as a greeter.
Given the conversations I remember overhearing pre-election on my bus from fellow mass trans riders, he would also be strongly advised to avoid getting on the 409 bus!
