Sessions: GOP Insurgency "May Be Required" (you won't believe this?)
http://hotlineoncall.nationaljournal.com/archives/2009/02/sessions_gop_in.php

February 5, 2009 8:08 AM

Frustrated by a lack of bipartisan outreach from House Democratic leaders, Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX), chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, said House Republicans -- who voted unanimously last week against the economic plan pushed by President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi -- will pitch a "positive, loyal opposition" to the proposal. The group, he added, should also "understand insurgency" in implementing efforts to offer alternatives.

"Insurgency, we understand perhaps a little bit more because of the Taliban," Sessions said during a meeting yesterday with Hotline editors. "And that is that they went about systematically understanding how to disrupt and change a person's entire processes. And these Taliban -- I'm not trying to say the Republican Party is the Taliban. No, that's not what we're saying. I'm saying an example of how you go about is to change a person from their messaging to their operations to their frontline message. And we need to understand that insurgency may be required when the other side, the House leadership, does not follow the same commands, which we entered the game with."

1. Maybe he's not TRYING to say the Republican Party is the Taliban,
but what he's essentially saying is that if you want your own way, and won't settle for anything else, you have the right to get it by any means necessary.

In short, that even terrorism is OK.

We've finally seen it. The Republican Party is bound and determined to terrorize and destroy this country from within, so the rich can divide the spoils amongst themselves, and go on to conquer the rest of the world.

This has got to be one of the most ignorant things I've heard a Rethug say, and we've heard a lot over the years.

6. They don't want outreach, they want control!
Hey Sessions ... YOUR SIDE LOST! You don't get to dictate the terms. President Obama has been gracious enough to give your party a seat at the table (which is a hell of a lot more than you deserve after the way you screwed up this country) and you've proven that you don't want a seat, you want the whole freakin' table and if you can't have it, you'll make sure the table is destroyed.

STFU and go away you useless turd!

8. This has got to be the stupidest politician on the face of the earth. Republicans are now equated
terrorists by one of their own members. Brilliant.

9. Take their offices. Put them in the basement, three to a cubicle.
No windows. Chair with one short leg. Phone that works...sometimes.

Playing hardball is no fun if the other side starts to do it on a serious basis.

We need to show them exactly who runs things in Congress now.

18. Just let them keep their staplers
No reason to give them incentive to burn the place down, they'll probably try and do it anyhow.

11. The only way I wanna reach across the aisle
is with a fucking fist to their windpipe.

Ignorant assholes. It's high time to saturate the media with multiple hearings and indictments regarding the last 8 years. We deserve better than this.

14. Doesn't disrupting the US government using Taliban tactics make them Enemy Combatants?
Could Sessions be sent to Gitmo w/o access to a lawyer?

He thought that approach was pretty good under Bush, right?

You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun
Crying like a fire in the sun
Look out the saints are comin' through
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

The highway is for gamblers, better use your sense
Take what you have gathered from coincidence
The empty handed painter from your streets
Is drawing crazy patterns on your sheets
This sky, too, is folding under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

All your seasick sailors, they are rowing home
Your empty handed armies, are all going home
Your lover who just walked out the door
Has taken all his blankets from the floor
The carpet, too, is moving under you
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

Leave your stepping stones behind, something calls for you
Forget the dead you've left, they will not follow you
The vagabond who's rapping at your door
Is standing in the clothes that you once wore
Strike another match, go start a new
And it's all over now, Baby Blue.

"It's All Over Now, Baby Blue" Bob Dylan
