...in what?, a few days? No questions asked? No oversight?

But for an $800 billion jobs package, we get "debate," obstruction, and delay.

Oh, wait! I see...the jobs package is $100 billion more, so now I see the need for all this fuss! :sarcasm:

2. This is beyond incredulous...
I'm really surprised there hasn't been riots and other acts of violence in the wake of all this...

6. Where are at least the sign carriers picketing?
You'd think you'd see some of that. Need more D.C. Based layoffs I guess?

12. I'm not surprised. It's below freezing outside.
Wait till it warms up and the millions of newly unemployed are on the streets.

Naomi Klein: Public Revolt Builds Against Rip-off Rescue Plans for the Economy

In America, broadcast studios are our Parliament. That is where is strikes begin.

from link:
The pattern is clear: governments that respond to a crisis created by free-market ideology with an acceleration of that same discredited agenda will not survive to tell the tale. As Italy's students have taken to shouting in the streets: "We won't pay for your crisis!"

4. They're too big to fail and we're too small to matter. We're only 'needed'
when they need to fleece us for our tax dollars to fund their greed. Otherwise we can all just go pound sand. When that well of tax dollars dries up, maybe then they will get a clue. No jobs/low wages=No tax revenue.

5. That pretty well sums it up...
Screw everyone else. So long as we take care of our own.

7. What I want to know is...
If the CEOs and bankers spent $2000/whack job on hookers for a "bailout"...how much will the next recipients spend on hookers for a "stimulus" package?

Just askin'.

9. Seems to me that if we were willing to spend 10 billion a month for 5 years in Iraq
we should be willing to spend at least 3 to 4 times that on our own country without batting an eye. And as we all know the "country first" Republicans being the super patriotic America lovers they are will want to spend even more than that.

10. $700 billion to Wall Street was so last year.
That was a different time, with a powerful and wise king on the throne.

Now it's just a noisy rabble with a skinny dark-skinned leader. We can't let them push us around.

I didn't get to listen. Pubs didn't want the bailout and they don't want the stimulous, but they
do want tax cuts for the wealthy. Is there anything else they are for?

It appears they are still heading backwards - pre-FDR?

Any synopsis? Has anyone figured it out and who is directing them now. Where are their talking points coming from?
