So, we are pretty attuned to the games they play and the end result of all this will be (more) reduced credibility on their part.

Interesting to watch an entire industry make themselves completely irrelevant. Rupert Murdochs whole trashy stupid media empire is crumbling. Magazines are shutting down, newspapers are condensing. When more people turn off their cable TV's due to household economizing, cable TV and the talking bloviators will suffer as well. They could do one thing to reverse the trend - redeem themselves and start reporting a accurate view of the world instead of the myopic view of their corporate overlords. Their 401Ks and retirement health benefits are no more secure than anyone else's.
