1. What do you mean "those of us that hate taxes"?
I don't like paying taxes at on level, but I like having streets and schools and things. So, I consider paying taxes part of supporting my community.

2. Have to agree with him.

Rightists want the gov't service without taxes to pay for it. You have to be pretty f'ing ignorant to hold that position.

the morons who bemoan the concept of "income redistribution" even as they advocate for higher tax cuts for the wealthy.

Guess what?

Taxes ARE income redistribution.

Morans.

8. It could be he's taking about the ignorance of people who believe that tax cuts
Edited on Fri Feb-06-09 02:32 PM by county worker
will get us out of this mess.

Tax cuts will not start spending to increase nor will it create jobs as fast as spending does.

Now if someone is of the belief that cutting taxes will cause people to invest and start businesses that will hire people who will spend, that person is ignorant.

Those policies got us into the mess. We need consumers to start spending and giving people jobs will do that and spending on infrastructure will start business to grow.

It's great to hate taxes but hating taxes will not help the economy!

9. "Taxes" is what let's me get to work....
when my car breaks down and I have to catch mass transit, taxes helped keep my house from going up in flames when my car caught on fire, taxes helped save my life when I was without medical insurance and I needed health care, taxes help feed me by allowing farmer to get their products to me, taxes helped educate me, taxes enable me to enjoy the Crown Jewels of our country, taxes help keep me safe from disease, taxes help find cures for my ills...I could go on and on.

I have benefited greatly from Americans paying taxes. And I pay taxes so other Americans can benefit as well.
