Who does Cheney work for?
Edited on Fri Feb-06-09 04:24 PM by noise
Who was he working for while in the White House?

1) We are told torture doesn't work. If this is the case (I believe this 100%) then Cheney doesn't get the benefit of the doubt. He doesn't get the "he acted in good faith" excuse. His endorsement of torture helped terrorist recruiting, rallied the cause of insurgents and endangered military personnel.

2) The warrantless surveillance began before 9/11. I know the political/media establishment like to ignore this inconvenient fact because it conflicts with the "Cheney's counterterrorism tactics protected the country after 9/11" narrative. We also have indications that the spying programs were used to target US citizens for political reasons. Sorry but that is a tactic used by police states. That is reminiscent of the Stasi.

3) The secrecy has been unreal. Across the board. We were expected to simply trust our fearless unitary executive because he knew better than we do and only an "unpatriotic conspiracy nut" would dare suggest the unitary executive seemed to be working for someone besides the US public. There isn't a chance for the public to have a good grasp of the true terrorist threat because classification procedures went into overdrive after 9/11. Needless to say Cheney's views on transparency and representative democracy seem more in line with a dictatorship than the US Republic.

There are too many contradictions in the good faith narrative. They simply don't make sense.

that evil banker (Mr. Potter) in the wheelchair from the movie, It's a Wonderful Life. He's an amoral, inhuman piece of scum, the dregs in the very bottom of an outhouse.

Aside from that, we like the guy!
