I am tired of the "War on Economics"
Edited on Fri Feb-06-09 04:21 PM by cap
Each and every time I hear some dumb commentator especially on Fox state the Government spending won't help us in this economic crisis, I want to throw my economics textbook at them.

Why, oh why, can't we have a discussion that is based on the merits of the case? Let's not start proving basic economics is wrong. It would be one thing to say that we should have a little bit more tax cuts and a little bit less government spending. But to say openly that government spending is a completely invalid response to the current crisis is flat out wrong.

We've had the "War on Science"; why are we having the "War on Economics"? What is wrong with us?

Should we throw out our economics textbooks? If our textbooks are so wrong, why do "Masters of the Universe"-in Training aka MBA students have to study these facts in order to be qualified to Rape and Pillage our Financial System?

Oh another thing, while we are on the topic. Why aren't we talking about how many tax cuts ARE in the economic stimulus bill? And what percentage of the total bill will the tax cuts make up? I mean, a hefty percentage of the spending will be a tax cut...

Give me a break. I am tired of the "War on Reason" and the "War on Knowledge".

3. Don't these asshole hacks in the Corporate Media come in contact with the public?
Why isn't the public calling them out on their bullshit and shunning them.
Example: Mr. Fox Parrot tries to get a cab... Everyone ignores him. He is given dirty looks everywhere he goes, and nobody will ever offer him any assistance. He goes to a restaurant, and receives shitty service and food, then ends up with the shits (oops, guess that was bad after all) later in the night. Everywhere Mr. Fox Parrot goes, he feels like everyone hates him and mistreats him. The easiest way to get to these bastards, is to stop treating them like human beings in public. They do not give a shit about the public, only lying to the public, so nobody should give a damn about them and their "problems." After awhile, they will self destruct and be very obvious about hating everyone, even through their actions on the air. Kind of hard for anyone to believe someone, who openly displays their disgust for you.

4. Gopers like to spin the myths and narratives to get their supporters to vote for them. The truth
would simply not work for them.

Really...the truth doesn't win them elections. Only false operations garner them votes.

5. You've got to frame it correctly.
Excuse me while I pimp my blog, because I worked fairly hard on an article on this specific subject.

Anyways, the framing is in the words. It's not a "stimulus package" it's a "jobs package". It's not Reaganomics or Supply-Side Economics, it's Joe The Plumber Economics, or Horse and Sparrow Economics (If you feed enough oats to the horse, some of those oats come out the horse's rear end and feed the sparrows.)

Anyways, without further ado...
