Why do we need the Republicans?

I'm trying to understand this...America rejected the politics of John McCain on November 4. America sent 58 Democrats to the Senate. Why do we need the Republicans? Those very people who say that bipartisanship is overrated are obviously not interested in passing any kind of stimulus package. They're only interested in trying to smack down the new administration.

WHY DO WE NEED THEM?

1. Because Reid is too cowardly to force them to actually filibuster

and be shown on TV as the big obstructionists that they are.

2. We need to find someplace to put Patrick Buchannon and Lindsey Graham.

They closed all the asylums.

3. We need them to slit their own throats. They usually do.

Their plans eventually end up hurting them. If the case can be made loud and clear that only government spending can pull us out of the depression then anyone against spending is against coming out of the recession.

I think we need a lot of talk about the 1930's and the new deal and the National Recovery Act.

4. Thanks to BushCo devastating the economy, many are now having to do without cable TV.

.... and so to fill the void these same people need something in their lives for comic relief.

And that's where the rethuglicans come in.

Democratic leadership which melts at the idea of conflict with the GOP --

Yet, the GOP rules whether they are the majority or the minority -- !!!
