How is anyone finding communications with elected officials these days?
Presume we are all trying to communicate regularly ---

and hope that increases as the days go by.

So many issues to make sure our elected officials are listening to us about.

The White House telephone system still seems to be "Bushed" --

there used to be recorded questions that went back at least to Clinton --

but I haven't been able to get thru yet -- 3 days! -- to hear what may be happening.

It looked like they may have "comment" recordings?

Meanwhile, the new White House form isn't any where near as annoying as the Senate/

Representative's forms usually are -- a real time waster there ...

however, it provides for only comments of 500 characters--!!!

AND, ANOTHER SNAG IS ... evidently the many organizations which have been speeding

e-mail along to them at the press of a button by an organization member will now have

to tell members to copy the message and submit it on the White House "form" or it will

be disregarded . . . !!

Obviously, lots of people want to comment -- I've resorted to calling the local offices

of Senators -- but I think we need open e-mail for all Senators/Reps and for the President.

What do you think?

1. I've e-mailed.. the phones are jammed. When I did get thru, the voicemails
were full to the brim... so, e-mail is the only option. I may resort to the local offices. Perhaps over the weekend we should organize some protests for monday outside the local offices to SUPPORT the American People's Bailout... and as in bailout, I mean jobs. No one is handing out free money. In order for us to get our piece, we're willing to invest our time, sweat, and heart into re-building this country.

2. I've been going through the alpahbet on Senate.gov...
I think I even did some drunk emailing the other night, and dropped McCain a nasty gram on my lunch break today. I cannot get through to Congress, the Senate or even the White House suggestion line via phone. Busy, busy, busy! And I've been trying for TWO WEEKS! Letters take too long. This is ridiculous! I think I might start going through MoveOn.org to contact them. That really seems to be the most effective venue these days, and I know my Congressman got my emails through there because he mailed me a response back (form letter, of course).

4. You know, last I heard the letters were still being "irradiated" and dried out for weeks . ..
before being sent on to Congress!
