someone please explain it as simply as possible for those of us who still blame the repukes?

The message I hear from the Dems is "we need this package to save America." Plain and simple.

And most economists agree. It has to be big--in fact massive--and it has to imbue the markets with confidence, and it has to arrive with conviction, and it has to put Americans back to work without fear that they are going to be layed off.

But I also believe maybe those of you who are critical are seeing something I just am not seeing.

I see Democrats fighting to approve this bill, and I see the same old pieces of shit like my shameful senators, Jon Kyl and McPitiful, fighting against it.

What are those of us who blame the repukes and not the Dems missing??

It's frustrating... I admit it: I'm dense. I don't see it. What are we missing?

Are the Democrats really to blame for what is happening right now?

And, if so, would you please tell us what on earth we should do?

Thanks

2. I just sent Sen. Reid a very, very frustrated email.
I hope to god the education and food stamps weren't cut. Economists say that food stamps for the poor will actually do a lot of good in stimulating the economy. I'm ready to scream and cry.

5. I sent him an e-mail too
Harry Reid is a joke. I told him that if he does not fight for democratic ideals, then he needs to resign his leadership position immediately. We need strength, not wimpiness. Obama must be frustrated beyond belief with him.

3. A Filibuster would be fine...

there is no reason to water down a bill that is a 'jobs' bill, and a 'spending on America bill' with Bush's tax-cuts. If they can't pass a decent bill they should all go home and stay there. Shut the frigging Congress down, and let the country fall where it may.

4. You are not wrong
And the entire Obama legislative agenda does not begin or end with this bill. Anything left out can be included in a bill proposed later.

This is a power play in the Senate, pure and simple. We want to win. The Republicans are engaging in a dishonest and self-serving debate. (Well, the sky is blue and dogs bark, what else is new?)

The Dem leadership is trying to hold up the essentials of this bill against the Repubs and against the moderate faction in the Dem Party that also believes in the tax cuts. The Repubs want to cut President Obama down and impede any progress whatsoever. I am not sure why, but perhaps they all have a suicidal impulse after last fall's election.

6. It takes two parties to make a clusterfuck
One to be obstructionist, and the other to let them get by with it.

7. Why are we spending so much time caring about what the repukes want?
My problem with the Dems is this idea that this has to be a bipartisan bill. Screw the repukes. Do you remember when they had control of the government? We are trying to undo the shit they put in place and yet we are caring about how they feel about it!
