There's a BUNCH of us whom they should hire, including that guy above me who posted the first post, who could produce some hum-fucking-dinger speeches.
Your thinking is SPOT ON. And that visual aid idea is a FABULOUS idea!!! I'm glad it's being spread around a little.
The Democrats damn well better get their faces out there in front of ANY camera and mic they see, and if necessary, FORCE their way onto the airwaves. Do stunts. Lots of visuals. The more clever and eye-catching the better. Generate lots of talk. Hog the cameras. Remember who your target is: the dumbed-down couch potatoes who've been convinced that others can do their thinking for them.
We have had approximately 30 years of mental programming by the bad guys - and YES, they ARE the bad guys. They should be consistently identified and labeled as such. We have been programmed - as reagan started doing in his first inaugural speech - when he said "government IS the problem." Our fellow citizens have been programmed to think that government = bad, taxes (which fund that government and all the things it handles because a federal government is what handles all the issues, problems, and needs that are bigger than we can handle individually or locally by ourselves) = bad. No one is consistently making the case that taxes aren't just some random money that you're not allowed to keep, but that tax money goes to pay for road repair, emergency services, police and fire, food inspections. Consider for example that contaminated food we imported with our blinders on from China. Remember all that stuff that got recalled? How 'bout all those peanut/peanut butter foods that had to be recalled because nobody bothered to do any serious inspections at domestic processing plants?
I could go on...
Taxes have to be re-branded. The idea of paying taxes should be branded as a very patriotic ALL-American thing to do. Like paying tuition to a really great school. Like paying membership fees to the most outstanding country club in the country - the one with the most terrific perks and advantages and prestige and other benefits of membership. Freedom indeed ISN'T free. Just like the bad guys' bumper stickers say. Freedom ISN'T free because it costs money to maintain. And it's not just maintained by armys and guns and bullets and bombs and torture chambers. It's maintained by a standard of living, consumer protections, guaranteed rights, the idea that you're safe and secure in your own home - from burglars, fire, bankruptcy, or Act of God, and more. THAT, TOO, is Homeland Security.
