Lemme get this straight - House votes on bill, passes...
Senate re-works bill, votes...and for argument's sake, it passes.

The bill THEN goes BACK to the House in it's RE-WRITTEN form.... and they will have to RE-WRITE the goddamn thing AGAIN???

HOW is this gonna work? HOW can they continue to GUT the plan and then have the audacity to send it back to the House?

HOW the hell are we supposed to get this thing rolling forward if they can't even get it passed?
They sure as hell could move fast when it was the BANKS who needed money... but Food Stamps...oh, noes!

I keep trying to be optimistic in spite of my precarious position in my own poverty. But this is really scring me and pissing me off at the same time.

How much precedent did Bush set in terms of power?...would Obama ever choose to flex some Executive Muscles to get this done RIGHT?

1. Since the House version was better, rewriting the Senate version might not be a bad thing.

7. Senate Democrats should be *thrilled* by the notion of a Republican filibuster.
Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 03:41 PM by Marr
All they have to do is talk about the financial crisis and openly accuse the Republicans of obstructing a solution. The people in this country are already angry and worried, and they want something done.

I'd give these Republicans all the camera time they want. Let them get up there and filibuster. Let them paste their faces on this. People will despise them for it. And next time they threaten a filibuster, do it again.

Republicans are obviously intent upon obstructing everything the Obama Administration sets out to do. They should pay a political price for it. It should be highlighted every time they do it.

6. No the process involves committees of both houses making "edits."
Each new version goes back to be debated - IF it gets to the floor.
Once they agree the president signs (or vetoes) it.
