People here in Kansas City are giving Obama a chance.
I just heard people talking in Hy Vee (a grocery story) and they like him. Said he has an awful mess to try and clean up and they would hate to be him.

But they said he is young enough and fiesty enough to try and get us through this stuff.

I was really glad to hear this. I like him, too. And I think he has an awful mess on his hands but if anybody can get us through this it is probably him.

1. No kidding.
I have been spending a lot of time at 18th and Vine lately. I was there last night to hear my youngest play at the Blue Note and there is Obama stuff everywhere in the area. Harpers across the street has posters hanging on the walls. Westport is like that as well. No matter what you think of Obama there is palpable excitement there. It is a wonderful thing to see.

3. Which Hy-Vee was this? In Independence?
I doubt you'll find the same sentiment at ours in Blue Springs.

5. Missouri---revolution????
I live in rural NW Missouri. My husband comes home telling me about "the guys" he knows buying guns and survival gear, because they say they are going to be ready to protect themselves and their homes when the revolution begins! We also have a (sorta)friend, who is one of those crazy right wing nut jobs, who says we will have a revolution because Obama is going to turn America into a socialist country---and the people are going to fight back!! My question: What the h--- are these people talking about??? What revolution??? Are people going to take to the streets with bats and clubs!!!? By the way, I'm a BIG Obama supporter!!!!

8. Hey! Welcome to DU!
Glad you're here!

We need you! Especially as a BIG Obama supporter. We HAVE to have Barack's back. So many other Dems have forgotten all about that kind of solidarity.

I'm in California now, but still have roots in Missouri. Either way, that leaves me with one superb Senator (Boxer, McCaskill) and one lox-on-toast (feinstein and bond).

7. It seems like I find a much higher percentage of
people I interact with every day that are pretty happy with how well President Obama is doing so far compared to what one might guess from reading the posters here.
