I don't trust the republicans. I'm worried the repukes will pull the rug out from under us and the bill won't pass. Please talk me down.

1. I'm more concerned that it will pass and won't be enough to fix the problem
It could just make things worse.

2. That right. The economy is fucked.
I dunno, maybe 800 trillion is enough to put 15% of the population back to work, but I doubt it.

8. We should get some back in conference
Here's what they cut. I think we should decide what we want back in Conference and organize to fight for that next week.

9. Once again, a list of what's been cut doesn't tell us anything about what's left

3. It will pass, but some asswipe GOP senator will
no doubt try to filibuster it. In my opinion, we should let them filibuster. Broadcast the Senator reading the DC phonebook and yammering on and on on every network.

At some point, we're going to have to endure a filibuster just to show the public who's obstructing our economic recovery. Put the burden on the GOP...where it belongs. Embarrass them sufficiently that they will not try it again anytime soon.

President Obama can do a national address, explaining just why the economic stimulus can't begin. Let him appeal to the public to stop the nonsensical waste of time. Let him lay it all out in the open and blame those who are to blame.

We have to stop being frightened of the GOP. We won!

4. Will we get 60+ votes? (filibuster proof )
That's what I'm worried about.

5. I don't know if we can muster 60 votes, which is my point.
Let them filibuster, and let them do it on something as important as this bill. We needn't be afraid of a filibuster. President Obama can step up to his bully pulpit and wipe out the toilet that is the GOP caucus in the Senate.

I want them to filibuster an important bill. I want them to do that, then be demolished by the electorate. It will be their last filibuster of this Congressional session. Until that happens, we'll be pussyfooting around the GOP losers for the rest of the session.

Let them filibuster. Let them read a cookbook written by the church ladies on the Senate floor. Let them extol the virtues of their home states and waste our time and obstruct a necessary bill.

Then, have the President stand up on national television and explain their childish snit. He can then ask Americans to make it clear to their Senators that the passage of this bill is essential to starting the recovery from the debacle the Republicans laid on the country. President Obama is perfectly capable of doing this and putting an end to the filibuster silliness.

It's time to put the GOP minority in its place. There will be no better time.

6. It'll get passed.
And then it won't work. Which will then lead the republicans to point all the fingers at Obama and dems because it didn't work. And the dumbed-down American public will follow suit.

7. The dems may vote it down from the sounds of it - not enough of what they want I guess
