Is Bill Nelson a Democrat?
I see a D by his name but he always sounds like a Republican douchebag so I wonder if it's a typo.

:sarcasm:

5. He just did a good job of pulling down Sessions's pants
Sessions got his tax amendment included but he still won't vote for the bill.

Nelson sounded like a gentleman but he stuck a knife in Sessions's back and twisted it. Nice way for Nelson to end his time on floor.

9. What specific "douchebaggery" are you talking about?
I don't like Sen Nelson, either. But his time on the floor was spent entirely on illustrating a couple of times in recent history where the two sides of the aisle came together to meet a crisis.

Then he pointed out how a small number of Senators came together in the past few days to work out a bipartisan solution. And yet, the rest of the Republicans still won't join the process. He illustrated that point by calling Sessions out as a hypocrite.

I don't appreciate Nelson being so conservative. But this time on the floor today was his finest hour. And I'll give him that.

So - what specific "douchebaggery" did you hear from him?

11. He has enabled the right in his stances over the years and now he
can't see why they don't reciprocate on this bill. Ya think?

14. He wasn't asking questions or wondering
His time on the floor today was instructional to anyone who was watching or listening. He was providing people like Keith, Randi, Thom, Ed Schultz et al some talking points.

What Nelson did was point out how in times of crisis they could reach agreements. How they did it in the past few days. Yet people like Sessions are hypocrites because they got their amendments but still won't vote for the bill upon passage.

8. His southern voice annoys me

I feel like I'm stupider from listening to it. 911 now and REagan.

Right now the only liberal left politician with a southern accent I respect is Jim Hightower.

10. He's a Democrat in a very, very Republican state...
so he does what he does to keep his job. And did what he did to get the job in the first place.

Better question is why Nebraskans are still Republican.

19. Florida is also a pretty strong Republican state
And given how it holds so many retirees suffering under Republican policies, your point still applies. :hi:
