The government supports geckos, cavemen and ducks
They make you have auto insurance (which I think we can all agree is fine) but they don't regulate how incredibly expensive it is or how repairs to cars aren't done right 95% of the time. Did you know that many insurance companies use after market parts to fix your car instead of OEM parts? Some of my local democratic leaders have let me know they want to do more about this. One even had it happen to him. As far as the right-wingers are concerned, well... they're not. Why should they care? They have a nice war to be financing.

After I started getting a little ticked off about auto insurance I stumbled upon (literally, stumbleupon.com) a site where other people have had a lot of trouble too. The most compelling I would have to say is about a mother with twin baby girls. The insurance company didn't want to replace the smashed sensor that deploys the airbags when you get into a wreck. Anyway, it's worth checking out. It really makes me sick. crying
