Profit: Charity or Theft of earned income? I've done some math.
In the first 9 months of 2008, American Corporations reported $3.44 Trillion in net profits (1).
For each of the 304,059,724 Americans (2), that was an average expenditure of $1,273.48/month, or $61127.04/year for each family of 4.

2. US Census Bureau estimate as of July1, 2008

Personal Note: I believe profit = theft of earned income.
