Just watched them both on Meet the Press. They were wonderful.

Hey Dems, it's called a SPINE. Get one.

11. I think she is more good than bad
Sure she has made mistakes. But her good deeds outweigh her bad.

20. She spoke up to the GOP idiots today and so did Barney Frank
I thought she did a great job on MTP.

Didn't realize she had to be perfect before I could praise her for doing the right thing.

22. (shrug) It would be helpful if you realized that one teevee appearance...
isn't quite all there is.

As far as spines go, if you take Claire's entire body of work into account, your OP would apply to her.

But I understand - as long as you look at nothing other than this morning's teevee appearance, yes, she is very, very good.

2. At the risk of being contrary,
I'm still angry at Frank, and Dodd. What was up with the original bank bailout. It's been such a flop, why did they ever agree to no restrictions or accountability? Has any citizen actually benefited?

OK, I do still like Barney, and he was a good rep. to counteract the rethugs' ridiculous arguments.

who flayed the Senate bill. What's with that?

I don't live in MO and can't vote for her. But I would trade her in a minute for Brownback or Roberts.

Take no notice of them.

in pointing out that McCaskill is not that good. More good than bad, perhaps, but not exactly a shining example for all Congressional Democrats.

9. Agreed. They gutted education, infrasturcture, arts and other programs
from the House bill. Folks need to get behind Pelosi. Forget about Reid. Let Pelosi drive this bus. She can deliver. Don't let the Repubs control this message. Get on the phones to your State electeds.

31. It would be nice, but we Democrats have never been ...
... as uniformly similar as the GOP.

I understand what you mean by having a spine, but we're the big tent party because we're all different.

32. "Unbought and unbossed" -- the motto of Shirley Chisolm.
That would be the answer to your question.

So... the other question is, do WE have the spine to do away with our corporate-run political system?

38. My only problem with Barney Frank...
He has held a tremendous series of hearings into the cause of the economic crisis, but he doesn't listen to what the witnesses are saying. He's so busy trying to think of what he's going to say next that he totally ignores his panel.

He's not the only one, though, for sure. I'm shocked by how little the senators and congresspeople on both sides, on the finance and oversight committees, even know about banking, finance or the economy. It's embarrassing.

I don't know anything about McCaskill.
