I've been thinking about this a lot since Daschle, Geitner et al have all had problems with their taxes, and now taxes (her husband's!) are being used against Hilda Solis.
What I want to know is where is this information coming from? That never seems to be disclosed.
I.e. how do the people in Obama's administration charged with vetting these people miss these tax problems, but the minute someone is nominated or moving toward confirmation, all of this confidential information about their personal finances comes flying out of the woodwork?
Are their accountants dropping a dime? Is the IRS reevaluating their tax payments?
We all know that the Clintons had to disclose all of their financial information for her to be confirmed as SOS. So, if we presume the same scrutiny for Daschle, Solis, etc, how is Obama's team (AKA the "Smartest Motherfuckers in the Room") missing this stuff, only for it to be magically revealed in order to attack the nominees?
This is not an attack on Obama or nominees, but rather an attempt to understand why this keeps happening.
