Stephanopolis had Gingrich on his panel discussion this morning. Doesn't George Will peddle a sufficient amount of worn out wingnut propaganda without having Newt there to add to the mountain of bullshit?
It seems that once a Democrat has been (sexually) discredited, he disappears from the face of the earth. Not so with Republicans.
We learned that Dem John Edwards was screwing around and he was finished. We learned that Republican Larry Craig was gay trolling in an airport toilet and he's still a senator.
Last year, we learned that NY governor Elliot Spitzer was jumping on prostitutes, and he resigned. We also learned that Louisiana Senator David Vittner was a regular consumer of the goods offered by the Washington D.C. Madam. But he's still in the senate, righteously condemning the very existence of Obama and the Democratic Party.
Anyone who doesn't know of Newt's history of marital and sexual betrayal can google it. So why is he still considered "respectable?" Why does anyone listen to him? Why do fundies still see him as one of their heroes?
For all practical purposes, Newt Gingrich is washed up and old hat. The only one who doesn't know it is Newt, (who is still thinking about a run for the presidency). Talk about self-delusion.
But to get back to the issue at hand. Why in the world is Stephanopolis giving Newt a seat at the table? Was he only following orders from his corporate masters at Disney, the owner of ABC?
Do you suppose we'll ever tear media ownership away from the bloody claws of corporate America?
