LifeWay unveils new digital technologyLifeWay Worship has introduced digital music technology that lets users create custom arrangements and downloads that correspond to audio files and sheet music.
SongMap was developed through the largest known recording project in Nashville history, the company says.
Nearly 1,000 songs and 8,000 mixes were recorded in 10 months by more than 150 musicians, vocalists and engineers.
The technology was unveiled Thursday at a ceremony at LifeWay’s corporate headquarters in downtown Nashville. In attendance were Christian and mainstream music industry executives, worship and music ministers, government and civic leaders.
According to LifeWay, SongMap is the first Web-based technology that allows users to choose specific sections of songs in the keys they prefer and then the download the song’s sheet music and audio files that correspond to the custom arrangement.
