Hire more IRS investigators. Real government civil servants. The outsourcing privatization of collection that the Republicans introduced was apparently a failure, with lowered recapture rates and higher costs, plus a practical ignoral of wealthier taxpayers WHO HAVE MONEY TO HIDE.

1. RNC Chair, Steele, would disagree since he thinks Government jobs aren't actually jobs. (WTF?) |

I was thinking about the same idea last week during all news on taxes. It would be a great way to raise some quick cash and put people to work. I'd imagine there are more than a few on both sides of the aisle that have some tax-skeletons in their closets.

2. Well I have read that audits are strangely skewed to the lower financial |
|
ranges. I wonder if that isn't because many people would not have the resources to defend or hire a tax attorney. Remember that Nixon wanted to use the IRS to persecute his enemies.
I object to privatization because it reduces government oversight over the process, plus there was a VERY disturbing report that one of the contractors was collecting information on political party affiliation. There can be NO valid reason for a tax collecting entity to collate that information. I can't think of one innocent use of the information.

3. Your first two sentences are spot-on. The exceptions are Dem politicians whom Obama might select. |
