1. Ya know, I have tears in my eyes

I'm a guy and guys aren't supposed to show emotion like this, but dammit, Elizabeth Edwards is one helluva tough lady. Tougher than most men I know.

They have incredible courage.

And he said if anyone plans to vote for them because she has cancer, DON'T. Let's hope that shuts up the nay-sayers who are saying they are using her cancer to gain some sort of advantage.

3. And, you don't hide your cancer in the closet anymore
You don't become a handicapped person, to be hidden away from other people. You get on with living as full a life as you can.

Thank you Gayle, for teaching me this.

4. Yes. An impressive talk with John and Elizabeth Edwards.
It's hard to argue with that kind of positive, affirming attitude in the face of adversity.

7. As that great philosopher Jimmy Buffett once said,
"I'd rather die while I'm living than live while I'm dead."

8. "I want to be alive when I die" Margaret Bourke-White
One of my favorite quotes.
Another one: "Live while you can, there's plenty of time to be dead" from a greeting card.

9. And the great Bob Dylan said
"Let me die in my footsteps before I go down under the ground."

That's what Elizabeth wants to do. What a beautiful, brave woman!

10. We all are going to die someday, atleast I know what I'm going to die of..
Elizabeth said something like that and between that statement and the one you showed in your OP, I have to say that I was so moved by her and that she and John are at peace with what may lie ahead for them and that they are living each day at a time.

Their statements in this interview can be applied on so many levels to so many things and I think they are such a wonderful and inspiring couple.
