C-Span showed a discussion that Dukakis had at the Dole Center at UKansas. In this discussion, Dukakis discussed mass transportation, Medicare, etc. It was great to watch a smart Dem talk about important issues so articulately. In both the focus of his talk and his ability to talk about these issues he was really impressive. It was about a year ago. This might sound funny for a guy with Dukakis's resume, but he'd be a perfect White House spokesman. He has an extensive television background, is smart, knows when to shut up and just personifies poise and competency. The way the media fried him for not going berserk over Bernard Shaw's tasteless question still amazes me. Not to mention the Willie Horton ad.
Robert Reich was on the ABC Sunday morning show, and, again, here's a really smart guy who is under-employed. Obama needs to get him on the team.
They're both great and reflect the intelligence and faith in government that the Dems are supposed to personify.
