The ministry of plenty has revived its glorious figures for the benefit of the people. Sorry folks, this is not a joke
but an official announcement from your "real" government.

Census Bureau Revises 2004 and 2005
Health Insurance Coverage Estimates

The Census Bureau today issued revised figures on health insurance coverage showing that more Americans have health insurance coverage than previously reported.

The revised estimates show that, in 2005, 44.8 million people, 15.3 percent of the population, were without health insurance – about 1.8 million fewer than the Census Bureau reported in August 2006. Based on the Current Population Survey, the original 2005 estimate was 46.6 million, or about 15.9 percent of the population .

For both 2004 and 2005, the original and revised estimates differ by less than one percent – 0.6 percent for 2005 and 0.7 percent in 2004.

Conversely, an estimated 249 million Americans had coverage, up from the 247.3 million reported in August.

The Census Bureau discovered the need for a revision during a conversion to a more accurate operating system for the Current Population Survey. In improving the quality and timeliness of the data, the Census Bureau noted that, in a small percentage of cases, some residents in a household were tabulated as “not covered” by insurance when they had in fact reported coverage. No other questions in the survey were affected.

“We are committed to ensuring that the nation has the most accurate numbers we can provide in a timely manner,” said Howard Hogan, Census Bureau associate director for demographic programs. “Once the conversion began in October, it took several months to test and verify the problem and then compute the revised figures for 2004 and 2005. The technical verification process was completed in February.”

Hogan added, “We will issue revised figures for the years 1995 to 2003 in August when we release the 2006 health insurance numbers.”

Noting that the impact on health insurance trends is small, Hogan said, “The effect of the revision is relatively constant from one year to the next.” He also said that the Census Bureau routinely issues revisions as it tests its systems and improves its procedures.

The revised estimates and information on the methodology can be found at <http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/hlthins/hlthins.html>.

They discovered a 2,000,000 data input computer glitch and released the announcement Friday,
when on Saturday there was a Democratic debate on health insurance and health care.
Doesn't anyone think this is strange? I know of plenty of people that
have lost their health insurance during these time.

5.  PRAY-GO health plan
I got laid off this past friday - my insurance is good until end of march (this saturday)

can't afford the COBRA premiums, so I'll be on the PRAY-GO health plan

What's a Pray-GO health plan you ask -- It's a plan where you PRAY you don't have to GO to the doctor/hospital

6. OK just ask yourself this
This administration forced Sharon Eubanks, a career DoJ attorney, to take it easy on their pals in the tobacco industry in the government case against them. They forced her to get the witnesses to change their testimony, drop a demand that some of these corporate executives be removed from their jobs, and to cut the damages that she was seeking from $130 billion to $10 billion. They wrote her closing arguments and forced her to read it verbatim.

If they would do that, what would stop them from falsifying Census Bureau records in an attempt to make it look like they don't suck?

8. More lies from Comrade Lil'Boots and his Bushevik Liars

I wouldn't believe a single number the Bushevik Ministry of Plenty (love that very appropriate name for these Totalitarian Scum) puts of of any of it's diseased and pustulent orifices.

A Bushevik paper is exactly as truthful and believable as a 1970s Soviet Agricultural production Report (600% increase in the wheat harvest, Comrades!).

Fuck them.

9. What a crock. I think the 47 million is an undercount.
Has a census worker ever asked if you have health insurance? They haven't asked me and I was pulled out for one of the tedious, long questionnaires. I'm self-employed and I can't afford it. I went to an auction preview once and asked the other dealers how they could afford health insurance and not one of them had insurance. The local paper used to run ads that included people without insurance - among the lot a farmer and a published poet. I don't believe any more Americans are insured today over yesterday.
