3. I would be sad if Rite Aid went under

7. Yep, throwback to childhood there.

I remember being a little kid, and my grandpa would take me to Thrifty's every weekend to buy a scoop of ice cream after church. I was always torn on whether to get Rocky Road or Black Cherry, but my grandfather refused to buy me a second scoop. Finally, one weekend, I ordered a Rocky Road, slapped the 25 cents for the second scoop down on the counter myself, and asked for a scoop of Black Cherry on top of it. My grandpa just smiled and asked the clerk to make them "extra big" since I was buying my own now.

I used to love playing with the tube testers too.

4. Some of these have been hurting for some time

I know Krispy Kreme doughnuts, Rite Aid, Blockbuster, Sirius and Six Flags were hurting even before the economic downtown.

Who needs Blockbuster video when we have on demand, TiVo, etc. Rite Aid stores are gross. Sirius is so far upside down it is stupid even after the merger with XM. Six Flags have been slowly closing locations.

5. Blockbuster is losing out to Netflix unbox on Amazon

and Redbox kiosks, which charges $1 a night.

13. Agree - Blockbuster could make huge profit this year by perfecting the downloadable movies.

It's the future of movies anyways but they put off the transition to this stuff for so long. I should be able to rent ANY non-New Release over the internet or straight to my cable box for 99 cents. ANY non-New Release.

And New-Releases should be straight to my computer or cable box for $2.99. Enough of this dumb mailing and stores and stuff. The future is NOW Blockbuster!

I don't care about your Six Flags, but I do want the original to stay open.

9. I feel sorry most and by far for Chrysler and, believe it or not, Trump.

I don't know enough about the other companies.

10. Chrysler is the one that worries me most

Since I'm in the Detroit area, that company closing would have the biggest impact for me. I hope they can make it, in some form or another. I'm not optimistic though.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rite Aid closed. The store near my house is really run down and the parking lot is always empty. I've only been there, maybe 2 times, in the last 5-6 years. There aren't many Rite Aids in my area...we mainly have Walgreens and CVS.

I didn't know Six Flags was doing so poorly. I've never been to one of their parks. Cedar Point is the amusement park I usually go to.

I think GM and Chrysler will be forced into a structured bankruptcy by the gov't in order to preserve the loans made to them.

14. Interesting. Here in Seattle, it appears that Walgreen's is going under, not Rite-Aid....

But that's just here.
