2. It's the truth, I bought two expensive Sony pieces of shit.
One was the VAIO laptop that lost it's hard drive before a year was up.

The other was a mini-DVD recording video camera that only worked with PCs and even then only using their software.

Pieces of Shit, both of them.

4. Heh. Very good. I've decided to standardize on Sony gear,
and I've few complaints about their technical quality. The problem is the poor quality, on occasions, of the technical writing (and/or the translations thereof) - ie. the instructions, setup/users' guides, etc. - which could often be greatly improved.

But then, sure, like most modern digital equipment, it's complicated stuff that requires time and patience to master.

Let them at least, as well as the step-by-step instructions, also include a fully-detailed map of all the command and control menus and their functions (and how and when to open them) - so at least you can know at a glance what functions are available and how to get to them.
