Puppet wants to hold his own strings
Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 10:23 AM by bigtree
BAGHDAD, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said Tuesday that time has passed for the United States to put pressure on Iraq.

Maliki's comments came at a joint news conference with the French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who paid a visit to Baghdad earlier in the day.

"I think talking about putting pressures on Iraq is over," Maliki told reporters, referring to comments by U.S. Vice President Joe Biden who said that his government would put pressures on the Iraqi government for more reforms.

"The Iraqi national unity government knows what are its responsibilities and we are seriously moving toward the political reforms and we are in the last step of the national reconciliation efforts," Maliki said.

2. the one on the Status of Forces Agreement is coming up
. . . supposed to be by July 30, 2009.

If Iraqis reject it, the US withdrawal timetable accelerates.

3. Rather impertinent of him. Does he not know the role of puppet government?
He foolishly thinks about national sovereignty.

5. well, all he has to do is give a little whistle
Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 11:53 AM by bigtree

When you get in trouble
and you don`t know right from wrong,
give a little whistle! (Whistle)...
Give a little whistle! (Whistle)...

When you meet temptation
and the urge is very strong,
give a little whistle! (Whistle)...
Give a little whistle! (Whistle)...

Not just a little squeak, pucker up and blow.

Take the straight and narrow path
and if you start to slide,
give a little whistle. (Whistle)...
Give a little whistle (whistle)...
And always let you conscience be your guide.

Not just a little squeak, pucker up and blow.
