1. I see they're not the regulation flags

Regular US flags do not have a golden brocade.

2. That is SO FUCKING OFFENSIVE to me.

I hated it when Republicans did it, I hate it even more when Democrats, who KNOW BETTER, do it.

The flag is not "bunting" or a decoration.

You display ONE flag--not dozens. Basic flag ettiquette is being violated shamelessly in that picture (and others as well).

It's so cheesy and obvious, wrapping oneself in the flag in that fashion.

The other thing I despise is this overwheming need (copied from the Brits, who have been doing it way longer than we have) to put up a little sign on the podium, or on a backdrop, telling everyone assembled what the fuck the speaker is talking about.

"Mission Accomplished" .... "Iraqi Peace and Prosperity"....."Prosperity, Stability and Security"...

It's ASININE. It's like the Cliff Notes for the feeble minded--here's what you're gonna take away from this, even if my lips don't transmit that message.
