Got so sick of Tweety and Blitzer, PBS SHILLS, and the rest pontificating, distorting and making light of the REAL NEWS...I finally went over to Amy Goodwin for the "Nightly News Wrap up."

I wasn't disappointed. She also has lots of good clips of Obama's Presser last night and his visit in Indiana, yesterday.

She has very informed guests, John Galbraith's son and good commentary...

I'd rather watch THIS than what passes for "Real News/McCorporate News" on the cables and elsewhere these days. Amy Goodman does her "Real News" every day....and why shouldn't I watch her for news I care about over the "Spin of the Day?"

Check out tonight's broadcast...it's really good and refreshing. Progressives will Love it and the rest of folks will find it INTERESTING...because it gives you new info and a "different" spin:

CHECK IT OUT! This Tweety/Blitzer Junkie is glad to KICK MY HABIT...to go to REAL NEWS!

See if you Like It..

1. She's excellent.
I don't know when the woman gets any sleep. She's very busy between the morning show and flying around the country on her book tours with her brother David.

The only redeeming feature of Houston media is the Pacifica station, and among other programs, Democracy Now! every weekday morning at 9 am.

I didn't know about the Nightly News Wrapup.

THANX for the heads up!!!

Another excellent show from KPFT-FM: www.newcapitalshow.com

8. Leo Gold is awesome.
He has the best locally produced show on KPFT, IMNSHO.

2. Democracy Now is the best news program around
Unlike the US network news shows, Amy focuses on international news that often gets overlooked. Great show, I recommend it to everyone!

3. She has lots of Obama Clips tonight. I have checked her out from time to time in the past years

...but now I realize that I can't stand the McCorporate Media telling me how to think from "Joe & Mika" in the Morning to...Blitzer and Tweety at night. And yes...I love Jon Stewart/Colbert/Olbermann and Maddow...but it's still too "Light" (for me)for these dark times and for many of us who want MORE NEWS..In Depth!

Amy is good for that. Particularly tonight. I usually catch up with her on weekends but only with her "topic guests." I never thought to check her out every night as an antidote to NPR or Network/Cables.

I learned a lot tonight that wasn't spin...and there's lot's of Obama snips on there plus Galbraith showing why Giethner crashed the Stock Market in his speech, today! :D

5. I like the debates they have
There was a very interesting debate on Nuclear power and storage the other day. Amy always brings in opposing viewpoints and it is very informative.

6. Here Here...Did this years ago...
My media habits have changed but turning off the TV is the first and best step.

My current rotation
1) Democracy Now
2) Harpers
3) New York Review of Books
4) The occasional FT

Plus Ian Masters and Counterspin podcasts

7. A couple weeks ago somehow I found Amy on my wake-up clock radio at 6am
I now set the alarm for 6am regardless of what morning meetings I have. Her show is just amazing.
