I thought watching it I would come to some kind of understanding. There are two sides to every story, after all, and I'd been wracking my brain to imagine how the real story might change my feelings about this case. I just assumed that the horrible reports I'd heard had to be exaggerations. Or that there would be a compelling story, explaining and debunking all the negative reports.


The truth is, this woman would have been better off not appearing at all, not granting a single interview, not telling her truth, because the truth is turning out to be worse than the reports, or anything I could have ever imagined.

My impression was that she needs the children to exist to give her love that she didn't feel she got from her own mother (and she said as much). This is her solution to her own feelings of loneliness and lack of love in her life. This is having children for herself, and not for them. They don't realize, yet, that their reason for existence is to make their mother feel better about herself.
