2. The severe part of the storm lasted less than 15 minutes here in Grapevine
It was fast moving. Did hear the tornado sirens go off for a few minutes.

10. Well yes..
the window thing is not safe though.

I'm guessing my town was spared...my husband never texted me to tell me our house blew away. I guess that's a good thing. I'd like him alive when I arrive back in the US.

Be safe, all you folks in the path of nasty weather!

11. Fact is, I haven't done the tornado freak-out for almost 40 years
Now, I just pay attention to the weather reports and hope I'm lucky. Tornadoes are evil. Hell, high winds are evil. I figure that if that's the way I'm going out, then that's the way I'm going out.

12. Growing up in NJ...
we never had tornadoes. Bad thunderstorms, for sure. I was scared to death, as a kid, of tornadoes. Who'd have thought I'd live in tornado alley? I'll be in the closet with the dogs, and my dopey husband is out taking pictures. Makes me a nervous wreck. But seriously, we sleep with the weather channel on every night if there's even a slight chance of sketchy weather. We grew up in NJ, like I mentioned, and then lived in CA...so crazy weather is not something we're entirely used to, with little warning.
Hope you're well.
