Al Gore's 'Climate Project' comes to Britain
Canadian Press
LONDON (AP) - Former U.S. vice president Al Gore is to hold training sessions on Monday and Tuesday to educate British volunteers about climate change, a news release from Cambridge University said.
Part of Gore's Climate Project, the sessions will be based on his slide show presentation and the Oscar-award winning documentary "An Inconvenient Truth." They have been tailored for a British audience, the university said.
The training sessions - which have also been held in the U.S. and Australia - are the first to be conducted in Britain, the news release said.
Those at the sessions will include representatives of business, education, government and faith groups. About 200 people are expected to attend the sessions, which are to be held in Cambridge, about 100 kilometres north of London.
Each evening, Gore is expected to address as many as 2,000 people during public lectures, the news release said.
Gore advises Prime Minister Tony Blair's government on climate change, and has also addressed senior opposition legislators on the issue.

Oh my, he simply must have a political agenda behind this. Is he going to run for Prime Minister? And yes, that is meant to be sarcastic and directed to certain people on all sides in this country including the media who seem to be salivating for him to run for their own reasons instead of concentrating on the fact that he is doing a TREMENDOUS service to this planet as it's premiere global environmental ambassador and joining in calling people to understand and address this crisis which is reaching the tipping point.
