Poll question: Should Oil Executives be charged with lying to Congress?
"All-Star shortstop Miguel Tejada has been charged with lying to Congress about steroids. Tejada is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday where he is expected to plead guilty."

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090210/ap_on_sp_ba_ne/tejada_steroids

"A White House document shows that executives from big oil companies met with Vice President Cheney's energy task force in 2001 -- something long suspected by environmentalists but denied as recently as last week by industry officials testifying before Congress.

In a joint hearing last week of the Senate Energy and Commerce committees, the chief executives of Exxon Mobil Corp., Chevron Corp. and ConocoPhillips said their firms did not participate in the 2001 task force."

Tejada nor the oil executives were under oath when they testified before Congress. However, only one is in hot water.

Fair is fair, right?

Shouldn't the Oil Executives be charged with lying to Congress as well?

1. They gamed the market all throughout the Bush years, and it started with
Cheney's dubious "Energy Task Force", IMO.

Cheney fought like hell to keep those notes secret. Why? The most logical reason is that he didn't want the Enroning of America to be made public.

I have maintained for years that California was only the proving ground, and they went world wide after the meeting of this "task force".

6. Of course they should. There are a lot of things they should be
charged with. Manipulating the market, lying to EVERYONE, messing with the price and refining of oil during TWO 'wars.

That fat bastard who got the half-billion buck retirement package should be the first guy in a cell.
