Celebrate Valentine's with a Tribute To The Earth, Community Photo and FREE Organic Compost
Nashville, TN.
Join the team at EarthMatters Tennessee at the George W. Carver Food Park, 1001 Gale Lane, as Valentine's Day 2009 is celebrated with a united shown of love to the Mother of us all.
"We've celebrated this day for over 10 years" says Sizwe Herring, Director. It's a way to share our love together and learn about ways to not be such a burden on our united Mom."
A weekly volunteer orientation will take place at 10 am on Saturday. This session is designed to get folks plugged in to their community greening opportunities, while unplugging from the all too popular technologies, including television, computers and video games. At 12 noon, people will gather and rehearse the patterns for the aerial community video and photo scheduled for 1pm. For this reason folks are asked to wear Valentine's colors, red, pink and white.
This is a fund and friendraiser for the Carver Food Park so a donation is requested at the gate - kids free, and as usual, no one will be turned away.
Open mic entertainment, including poetry and special suprise guests will take place at the Carver Pavilion after the photo. Guests are all invited to take a sackful of rich, organic compost home as a gift from the Earth.
