Stars & Stripes letter: How Liimbaugh affects AFN
How Limbaugh affects AFN

Rush Limbaugh has publicly expressed the hope that our commander in chief will fail in his leadership of our country. Everybody in the armed services knows that the military code prohibits public criticism of the commander in chief. Hoping that the president’s leadership of the country fails goes far beyond political commentary and borders on treason. If an officer in the U.S. Army expressed the same hope publicly, he or she could be court-martialed.

*****

American Forces Network is not subject to the military code, of course, but its audience is primarily made up of those who are. Limbaugh is not subject to the military code either, but how can AFN justify providing a public platform for him — without at least publicly disassociating itself from his contemptuous remarks about our commander in chief?

3. BTW Rush ... how's that OperationChaos going? You simple minded fuck.

OxyRush the flip-flopper. He said he hopes the President fails and then he denied saying it.

His own words:

" I would be honored if the drive-by media headlined me all day
long: 'Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails.' Somebody's gotta say it. "

4. On Wikipedia it says
AFN is under control of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs (OASD-PA). Editorial control is by the Department of Defense...

So why in the hell isn't something being done about this by the assistant secretary or by the department of defense? You can bet your last dollar that if it was a democrat that said something like Rush did on AFN about Bush all hell would have broken loss by the republicans. I plan on writing to my members of congress about getting Rush off the AFN.

6. Allison Barber used to control AFN et al
Remember her? The Bush propaganda queen?

*******************

Allison Barber was the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Internal Communications, United States Department of Defense from 2003 to 2008. She was responsible for American Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS), the Defense Media Center, the Pentagon Channel, several Department of Defense websites, and the Stars and Stripes newspaper, the American Forces Press Service.

On or around June 2, 2004 Allison Barber, disclosed that AFRTS selects which programs to broadcast based on content, rather than popularity. In particular, Rush Limbaugh's radio program is broadcast, but Howard Stern's is not. <1>

On October 13, 2005 Allison Barber was videotaped while she was coaching soldiers preceding a live teleconference with President George W. Bush.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allison_Barber

Barber suddenly left her position last October, and her participation in the American Supports You program, which involved funneling millions of dollars of appropriated funds through Stars & Stripes, turning it into non-appropriated funds to pay off a Bush contributor, Susan Davis International, whose job it was to promote the war via the ASY program, is now under investigation. Claire McCaskill wrote a scathing letter to Robert Gates last month demanding accountability for the money, and the Inspector General's report on the scandal is due in early summer.

11. Obama needs to fire Gates, if Gates don't get rid of Rush...
and Bush's butt munching, insubordinate, left-over political/crony Generals. All the real stand-up generals either retired or were retired by Bush, Cheney and Rumbo...sometimes I wonder if Gates is still taking orders from the OSP and the PNAC?

Rummy and the neocons ran the US military like the Nazis ran the German military. Political officers embedded in every unit, using the military personnel for props and backdrops for all of Bush's political photo ops, preaching the neocon line of bullshit to the troops by way of Rush just like the Nazis blasted their troops with nonstop political propaganda, torture.

The neoGOPers might not be card carrying Nazis, but they use the same MO.

8. It is obscene to think that Limbaugh addresses the troops
What the fuck can go wrong with this? That tub-o-lard speaks nothing but lies and treason every day. And our military should hear it?

I think congress needs to get involved in this. I really do. Let the simple mided republican fucks publicly vote in favor if it.
