1. Looks to me like all you have to do is go over to the Commerce Department to find one.

2. What New England Republicans?

With the exception of Maine's two senators and the newly minted (and electorally doomed) senator from New Hampshire, Bonnie Newman, there is not a single New England Republican in Congress.

3. There is a vanishingly small fiscal-conservative, socially liberal branch

of the Republic party left, and I think most of them are actually Blue-Dog Democrats.

The Republic party is becoming increasingly regional, southern, rural, and irrelevant.

I hope they radically shift even further to the right as they pander to an increasingly smaller and loonier base.

4. they got forced out by their own party

traditionally in past years, a lot of NE repubs were more liberal than southern dems (especially on social/environmental issues)...

they were also a lot less fundie...so you can see once the christian coalition rose to power in the early 90s, they were going to get more of 'their people' in those offices

5. It's gotta be really good up there

Keep supporting the progressives we have fighting the good fight here in the south. We need all the support we can get!
